Sutcliffe began designing and selling leather, rubber, and vinyl clothing in the late 50s, after his wife left to him due to his "interests." His styles are a noted influence on Emma Peel's looks in the TV show The Avengers, as well as on Vivienne Westwood and her SEX shop.
